The Essex County Council (Bunny Walk Footpath/Cycle Path, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

 

 

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

 

Effect of the order: Essex County Council intends to temporarily close a length of Shared Footpath/Cycle path parallel to the River Chelmer, From its junction with Footpath 66, Chelmsford to its junction with Hill View Road, Chelmsford, in the City of Chelmsford.  in two phases.

 

Phase Description
Phase 1 From its junction with Footpath 66, Chelmsford, northwards for a distance of approximately 240 metres to its junction with Footpath 65, Chelmsford.
Phase 2 From its junction with Footpath 65, Chelmsford, north-westwards for a distance of approximately 160 metres to its junction with Hill View Road.

 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 01 August 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public while maintenance improvements are undertaken to the existing shared Footpath/Cycle Path.

 

Diversion routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be via Footpath 66, Chelmsford (Cyclists will be required to dismount on the footpath), Bunny Walk Brook Street, New Street, Victoria Road and vice versa. The alternative route diversion is Hill View Road, Arbour Lane and Park lands Drive and vice versa

 

The Order will come into effect on 01 August 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
