| Temporary closure of Petersfield Bridge on Valley Bridge, Chelmsford |
| From Monday 5 August 2024 for up to two weeks, Petersfield Bridge on Valley Bridge in Chelmsford will be undergoing essential maintenance to extend the life of the structure.
Plans are in place to remove and replace the existing movement expansion joints that are currently in a poor condition. The joints run across the width of the carriageway, necessitating a full closure of Valley Bridge 24 hours a day, until the works are complete.
Valley Bridge provides a valuable link between the B1008, Broomfield Road and A1016 Chelmer Valley Road. During this time appropriate diversions will be in place as no vehicle access over the bridge will be possible.
Pedestrian access will be accommodated throughout the works.
