Important roadwork information
A12 northbound junctions 19 to 24 – resurfacing
I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing works along the A12 northbound between junctions 19 to 24. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete this work over one night on Wednesday 7 August. We will work between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A12 between junctions 19 and 24, and divert traffic as follows:
Motorway traffic
Traffic wanting to travel northbound on the A12 main carriageway should be advised that it will be closed at junction 19 (Boreham). Therefore, all traffic will be diverted off the A12 at junction 19 to follow the diversion route via the A131 to A120 Panners roundabout. Follow the A120 eastbound to A12 junction 25 and then continue on the A12 southbound to Witham.
Local traffic
Please note, the northbound entry slip at Junction 19 will remain open for local traffic heading to Hatfield Peverel and Witham. Additionally, there will be a total closure of Junctions 21 and 22 for the resurfacing works.
A map of the diversions can be found below.
