I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out urgent patch resurfacing work on the A12 northbound between junctions 19 and 20a. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete this work over five nights between Monday 20 May to Friday 24 May 2024. We will work between 9pm and 5am, weather conditions permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A12 northbound between junctions 19 and 20a, and divert traffic as detailed below:
Northbound traffic will be diverted off the A12 at junction 19 (Boreham) and travel towards Braintree on the A131, then head eastbound on the A120 and rejoin the A12 at junction 25 (Marks Tey).
