One of the initiatives of the new council that has put underway is the design of a Parish emblem.  If you are a keen digital designer or a budding artist, give it a go Chelmer Village Parish Council is delighted to launch a competition to design a front cover for a forthcoming edition of (parish newsletter).  The Parish Council is looking for designs (photo, drawings, paintings) relating to the environment within the parish.

The design would need to be.

  • The entry must be no larger than an A5 sheet.
  • Must be able to reproduce in black and white or colour.
  • Must contain the words Chelmer Parish
  • Must be hexagonal in shape and contain some form of historical interest of the area (e.g. Bronze age site – Canal – listed buildings)
  • The closing date for receipt of entries will be 31st December 2023
  • All rights to reproduce winning image(s) will remain with Chelmer Parish Council.
  • No professional company entries will be accepted.
  • Book tokens will be awarded to winning entrants.
  • Entries will show items of historical interest related to the area.
  • Winning prize provided will be book tokens.
